Sutton Housing
Project Description:
This scheme is for a small cluster of 5 houses. The two principal houses are placed facing west to take in the wonderful views of Dublin Bay off Strand Road, Sutton. Three “mews” type houses are set to the east of the site with south-east facing gardens complimenting the front houses in design and appropriate scale. The two principal houses have their own access off Strand Road with the mews houses having a pedestrian\vehicular shared surface providing a sense of community and place.
The houses are set well back off the road providing the opportunity to “open up” the elevation to take in the sea views, while providing privacy. The “special” space will be the top floors where the master bedrooms are placed – the panorama views of Dublin Bay will be spectacular. All gardens are south-east facing, landscaped to a high level to provide a high level of enjoyment and amenity.
A simple palette of brick and pressed metal\zinc panels form the principal external finishes designed in an contemporary way. This material palette brings a strong sense of unity to the scheme across all 5 houses, yet each of the houses has its own identity by virtue of its site placement.
